 What is an email header?
The email header is the information that travels with every email, containing details about the sender, route and receiver. It is like a flight ticket: it can tell you who booked it (who sent the email), the departure information (when the email was sent), the route (from where it was sent and how did it arrive to you) and arrival details (who is the receiver and when it was received). As when you would book a flight ticket with a false identity, the same goes for emails: the sender can partially fake these details, pretending that the email was sent from a different account (common practice for spammers or viruses).

Will there be any delay in message delivery if all emails would go through your server first?
We recommend delivering emails through our Email Defense Solution, which is our MX Backup (aka Mail Bagging, MX Fail Over) services along with either of our anti-spam/virus (Postini OR SpamWeeder) solutions. When your primary mail server is available, your emails should only route through our servers first if you use our Postini OR SpamWeeder solutions for continuous filtering.  These solutions will not cause a delay in message delivery.  Otherwise, we do not recommend using the failover server backup MX record as your highest priority.
How can I determine my text messaging email address for SMTP port monitoring notifications?
Your text messaging address is in the following format:  your_cellphone_number@your_carrier_extension (ie 5551234567@vtext.com).  Please click the following link to view a list of carrier email extensions:  http://www.sensiblesoftware.com/weblog/2011/02/28/cell-phone-email-addresses/
Under what types of condition spooling does not take effect?
The fail over for any mail systems happens only if your mail server does not respond to ETRN. In some scenarios mail servers or spam filtering gateways respond to ETRN and that is when the fail over mechanism does not happen and the normal email delivery continues. Our general recommendation to avoid such scenarios please make certain that your engineer knows what they are doing and avoid accepting emails or make sure that the appliance would retain accepted emails.

What do I do if I notice my mail bagging system is rapidly filling up during a primary mail server outage?
During primary mail server down time, it is always recommended to login to your mail bagging system frequently to keep an eye on the amount of disk space being utilized.  If the system reaches full capacity, messages will bounce back to the sender AND our staff will not be able to add disk space.  When you login as an administrator, the first screen is a System Information screen that shows Real Memory, Virtual Memory, and Local Disk Space as well as other information. Both the memory usage and disk space indicators are shown as bars.  The blue section of each bar indicates the amounts available, while the red section indicates the amounts being used.If the primary mail server outage is planned in advance, we recommend preparing for any unforeseen issues by purchasing additional storage space ahead of the time.  By doing so, you may avoid special engineering charges. If the primary mail server outage is not planned and as an administrator you notice
