What are the system requirements to run Directory Server Synchronization?
Article

Using Directory Sync requires the following:
• A server on which to install Directory Sync utility, running Microsoft Windows (tested on XP and Vista), Linux or Solaris (version 8+, no support for x86).
• Sufficient disk space on the server. You should have at least 5G of disk space for log files and data. If you are running with DEBUG or INFO level of logging, you may need more free space than this for additional log data.
• Sufficient memory on the server. The minimum amount of RAM needed to run the tool is 256MB free. Suggested is 1G free if you have less than 10,000 users, 2G free if you have more than 10,000 users. For very large
organizations (over 250,000) further tuning may be needed.
• An LDAP server with user information which is accessible to the directory sync utility. All versions of the LDAP protocol are supported.
• Read and execute administrative access over the appropriate OU structure of the LDAP server.
• Network access to the message security service through HTTPS, directly or through a proxy server.
• An administrator account on the message security service.
• A mail server able to accept and relay notifications from the directory sync utility.
