No, web forwarding and web aliasing are not the same. Whereas web forwarding directs your domain name to your web site, aliasing allows you to use multiple domains for your site.
For example, aliasing mysite.com and myaliasedsite.com allows users to reach the same file with both
http://www.mysite.com/test.htm
and
http://www.myaliasedsite.com/test.htm.
