This guide assumes you have already downloaded the Microsoft Outlook app from the App Store.
Step 1: Open the Outlook App and Start Adding an Account
Open the Outlook app on your iPhone.
If this is your first time using the app, you will be prompted to "Add Account." Tap Add Account.
If you already have an account set up, tap the profile icon or initials in the top-left corner of the screen. Then, tap the gear icon in the bottom-left to go to settings, and tap Add Email Account.
Step 2: Enter Your Email Address and Choose Manual Setup
Enter your full Stratamail email address (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com).
Tap Add Account. Outlook will likely try to automatically find the settings and fail.
When it fails, you will see a message asking you to choose an account provider. Select IMAP or POP.
IMAP (Recommended): This will sync your emails across all your devices.
POP: This will download emails to your iPhone, and they may be removed from the server.
Step 3: Configure Incoming and Outgoing Mail Settings
After selecting IMAP or POP, you will be taken to a screen to enter your manual settings. Toggle on Use Advanced Settings.
Enter the following details:
Incoming Mail Server:
IMAP Hostname: servername.mailshelter.com
IMAP Port: 993
IMAP Username: Your full Stratamail email address.
IMAP Password: Your Stratamail password.
SSL: Ensure Use SSL is toggled on.
Outgoing Mail Server:
SMTP Hostname: servername.mailshelter.com
SMTP Port: 465
SMTP Username: Your full Stratamail email address.
SMTP Password: Your Stratamail password.
SSL: Ensure Use SSL is toggled on.
Step 4: Finalize the Setup
Once you have entered all the server details, tap Sign In or Done in the top right corner.
The Outlook app will test the connection. If the settings are correct, your account will be added successfully. You may need to grant permissions for notifications.
Your Stratamail account is now set up on your iPhone, and your emails will begin to sync.
