| Will there be any delay in message delivery if all emails would go through your server first? | |
| We recommend delivering emails through our Email Defense Solution, which is our MX Backup (aka Mail Bagging, MX Fail Over) services along with either of our anti-spam/virus (Postini OR SpamWeeder) solutions. When your primary mail server is available, your emails should only route through our servers first if you use our Postini OR SpamWeeder solutions for continuous filtering. These solutions will not cause a delay in message delivery. Otherwise, we do not recommend using the failover server backup MX record as your highest priority. |

| What are HTML viruses? | |
| Also known as active content attacks or browser attacks, HTML attacks are aimed at those who use web browsers or HTML-enabled email clients to read their mail. Such attacks tend to use the scripting features of HTML, or of the email client, to illicitly execute code on the PC, or to acquire private information from the recipient's computer. These viruses do not require user intervention in order to be activated. |

| Bounce spam protection (DSNs/NDRs) | |
| "Bounce spam" can be an annoying problem. The email SMTP protocol is a very simple protocol that was defined in 1982.
Spam was not yet a problem and to keep things as simple as possible, no
security measures were implemented in the protocol itself. The result
of this is that there is no verification whatsoever that the "From:"
address in an email message actually belongs to the sender.
To try and avoid spamfilters, spammers will typically use random
email addresses as fake senders. This way they can avoid any simple
spamfilter that blacklists based on the sender email address. It is
important however that the email address they use as a sender does
exist, since spamfilters can apply a "sender verification check" to
ensure that the sending address itself exists.SpamExperts applies advanced m |

| Describe why a message was rejected or temporarily rejected | |
|
In our web-interface, we use different classifications to describe why a message was rejected or temporarily rejected.
Temporarily Rejected (4xx SMTP response)
TEMPORARILY REJECTED
Messages which have been temporarily rejected, stay stored on the
sending mail server. Legitimate mailservers always automatically retry
delivery of such messages. Depending on the reason of the temporary
reject, the message could get accepted at a subsequent delivery attempt.
It's always possible to whitelist the sender to disable any checks and
to ensure that the message will get accepted as soon as it's retried by
the sending server.
Greylisted
Temporary rejection due to greylisting.

| SpamWeeder Premium System Message Queueing/ Spooling | |
| Generally emails are directly delivered to the destination server and
not stored locally on the filtering machines. However if the
destination server is unavailable, all email sent to known destination
recipients are queued locally on the filtering servers for delivery.
Emails which have been permanently rejected by the destination server
with a 5xx error code, will NOT be queued and are rejected by the
systems. We have a list available with SMTP Error Codes available in our knowledge base.
Queue Access
You can access the email queue from the webinterface, from which you can also manually force-retry delivery of a queued message.
Automatic Retry Schedule
Messages queued because of temporary problems with the destination
route (for example network problems) are automatically retried for
delivery at the following approximate |

| How do I report spam that gets to my inbox? | |
| If you are still receiving spam, submitting the emails to the central training system will first of all help to reduce the spam you're seeing, and it will allow us to retrieve detailed information on what may be causing your problems. Emails that did not pass our filtering systems, or that passed the filters because the sender/recipient was whitelisted are automatically excluded from the training systems. Methods to report spamSpampanel webinterfaceIn the Spampanel web interface we have a "Report Spam" button. You can upload a spam message on the page to train the spamfilter. It is a 'drag 'n' drop' style feature, meaning you can save the SPAM email to your system, then drag and drop the email into the "Report Spam" area. Note that only emails are accepted that have been processed by the cluster you're reporting to. Currently only the .eml format is supported.

| How to configure O365 with SpamWeeder Premium | |
|
Inbound filtering only:Using Office365 with SpamWeeder Premium for inbound filtering is simple. Once the domain is added to the SpamWeeder Premium portal, we recommend that you
then create a rule directly within Office365, to allow all traffic from
the filtering service IP's before changing MX record to avoid any
delivery issues. To set this, complete ONE of the following options: Set an IP Based Transport rule, OR an X Header based transport rule. IP based transport rule:In your Office 365 Environment, you can create a "Transport Rule"
for your filtering service delivery IPs. (**note** This is IP based and not
hostname based. Please use the IP ranges specified here: SpamWeeder Premium IP Ranges). |
